Jewellery Making Evening Class
About the Course
Over the duration of the five evenings, you will build upon existing knowledge and develop your jewellery making skills. The key focus of this course will be vitreous-enamelling.
Week One: You will refresh on basic techniques such as texturing, piercing and drilling using copper.
Week Two: Fee will give a demonstration on doming metal and vitreous-enamelling. You will then be able to practice experimenting with this technique.
Week Three: You will gain a more in-depth knowledge of enamelling and be introduced to tube-riveting.
Week Four: Students will work on their own projects with assistance of the tutor.
Week Five: Students will be shown how to finish their projects.
The course is run by Fiona Cocks BA(Hons) who is has been teaching classes for over 10 years. She is enthusiastic and fun. The 2.5 hour sessions takes place in the workshops of Bigbury Mint, which is in Ermington, near Ivybridge, in the heart of the South Hams area of Devon.
Courses run on Thurdays evenings. We can take group-bookings at other times as well, and these can be tailored to your needs.
What’s included in the price?
All tools and materials are provided, but if you are wishing to work in silver there will be a small additional charge. Turn up ready for a 6pm start on Thursday evenings with clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and enclosed shoes and boots suitable for a workshop (not flip-flops or sandals). Parking is available right outside. Tea/Coffee and biscuits are available!

You need to pay for your course in full before booking is confirmed. Phone 01548 830717 to make a payment. Please note that full refunds can only given with a minimum of 30 days notice. If the notice is less than 30 days, then we can only refund 50% of your payment. We retain the right to refuse entry to anyone who is aggressive or under the influence of drugs including alcohol.
