Bigbury Mint Ltd have a team of skilled seamstresses who take a great deal of pride and care in their work. All our staff are fully conversant with current military medal mounting regulations and our business procedures ensure that we regularly check the uniform regulations for any changes.
Our Medal Mounting Service can be accessed by clicking here.
Both military medals and commemorative medals can be mounted in the following manner…
Swing Style Medal Mounting
Swing style medal mounting is the more traditional method of mounting medals whereby the military medals are mounted on a medal brooch bar which can then be pinned to your tunic or a pocket holder. Mounting medals swing style allows the medals to move or ‘swing’ when worn. We sometimes refer to this method as the “jingly jangly” as the medals will bounce off each other when worn.
Court Style Medal Mounting
Medal mounting court style means the medals are fixed to a rigid backing material called buckram. Court style medal mounting holds the medals firmly in place and prevents them ‘chinking’ together and damaging each other when worn.
If you wish to send us medals to be mounted please ensure they are suitably protected (bubble wrap or “Jiffy” envelope).
