Description
The Seaton Noble is one of a range of ‘Town Coins’ made by Bigbury Mint. They are made as fictitious currency or tokens of Devon Towns, local to where the Mint exists. The coins can be bought to give as gifts, made into jewellery, or used as tokens. If your town (wherever in the world) would like to commission us to make a ‘coin’, please contact us.
The Seaton ‘Noble’ is made from Nickel-silver and is 27mm in diameter. Seaton is a seaside town on the South coast of East Devon.
On the front (obverse) of the coin is the name ‘Seaton’ and its motto ‘Seek, Strike, Attain’, and the Town crest.
The back (reverse) of the coin is the text ‘ twinned with Thury-Harcourt’ and the title ‘One Noble’. It depicts a tram for the tramway that runs through the Wetlands for which the wading bird represents. At the top is a sailing boat to show that the town is on the coast in an area popular for sailing and boating.
This makes a lovely souvenir that will last for a lifetime.
